Etymology[]

  • The name Takuya is written in hiragana (たくや), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (拓也 or 拓哉), it could possibly mean:
    • 拓也 - "expand, open, support" (拓) (taku) and "to be, also" (也) (ya).
    • 拓哉 - "expand, open, support" (拓) (taku) and "how, what, alas, question mark, ?" (哉) (ya).
  • Takuya's surname Arima means "exist" (有) (ari) and "horse" (馬) (ma).
